Notice to all those who love good, beautiful and gourmet food! If you are in need of shellfish, wine and more generally of exceptional products, then your stay in Marseillan promises to be gourmet!

Noilly Prat

Your gastronomic interlude begins on the outskirts of the port of Marseillan, and more precisely at the Noilly Prat house.

As soon as you set foot in this institution, you will be transported back to 1813, the date on which the house was created. In the company of the cellar master, go back in time over 200 years to understand the subtleties of the first French vermouth and the know-how to make it.

You will first be able to meander between the Enclos cellars (open-air cellar) and then discover all the perfumes and spices of the Herboristerie and the Brand Museum. Your journey through the history of Noilly Prat will end with the long-awaited tasting of the vermouth collection... To be continued in the courtyard over a cocktail.

Speaking of cocktails, if the art of mixology intrigues you, this will be the opportunity to learn about it during a workshop offered by the house where you will be able to make two vermouth-based cocktails, after a tasting.

Richemer cellars

The particularity of this establishment is the plurality and originality of its different cellars... There is something for everyone:

  • The pearl of Thau promises to give you all the knowledge you need about the white and rosé wines of the lagoon, thanks to an interactive show.
  • La Cave du Port, which combines the pleasures of the mouth with those of the eyes with a wine tasting followed by a boat trip to the Thau lagoon, the Canal du Midi and the Hérault river.
  • La Cave de la Plage is appreciated for its tapas bar and its Accueil Vélo.
  • ...

The Richemer cellars also offer you the opportunity to learn about oenology during a workshop or an activity. For example, you can learn the secrets of the winegrower, discover wine through your senses, learn about the world of wine by bike or simply enjoy some family time while cooking.

The markets of Marseillan

A new idea, almost unmissable, to discover the gastronomy of the region and to please your senses, are the markets... And with no less than 5 markets, there is plenty to do!

You will of course find the classics such as the one which takes place all year round under the covered market... The ideal way to meet the local shopkeepers!

Don't miss the big market every Tuesday in the historic centre, which will allow you to fill your basket with food products, but also with craft creations, not forgetting that it unfolds its stalls on the seafront in fine weather.

Two other markets are also highly anticipated:

  • Les Dix Vins Mercredis, a farmers' market that takes place in the summer and which will allow you to taste a wide range of specialities both on the market and on the tables of the restaurants partnering the event.

  • The night market, which also takes place in summer, offers more craft creations, but also some good local products... Always in a festive and warm atmosphere. See you every Thursday in the town centre and every Friday at the beach.

Once you have settled down on the edge of the lagoon, all you have to do is choose the tasting formula of your dreams and enjoy the flavours of the oysters and mussels that are raised before your eyes.

But the must-try at La Cabane is the brasucade of mussels smoked in beech wood. To be enjoyed on the spot or to take home.
